We Need Your Help

Donations to BIIN are made through the Disability Rights Center which acts
as our fiscal agent.

Imagine you just had an accident…. and now have a brain injury.

Imagine that no matter how hard you try you can’t seem to do the things you used to do.

Imagine you are trying to get help and you don’t know where to turn.

Brain Injury is a reality for about 10,000 Mainers each year!

The Brain Injury Information Network of Maine (BIIN) Partners represent organizations that have experience with children, the elderly, people who have disabilities and providers of brain injury rehabilitation.

BIIN is the only organization in Maine whose sole purpose is to address the issues facing individuals with brain injury and their families.

BIIN began in 2009 as the Brain Injury Association of Maine closed it's doors. The Brain Injury Information Network of Maine was able to begin full operation in April 2010 .

Each of us is being challenged and need to make adjustments in these uncertain times. We have all cut back and have had to rethink our priorities. Brain injury is in the news every day now and it is time to move forward to make the most of the news and to meet the needs of people with brain injuries. Mainers are known to "tough it out" in hard times and yet are always ready to help each other. BIIN is working with our Statewide Partners to ensure that we are efficient and that our outcomes demonstrate effectiveness.

Please help us to continue to do this work!

Our results since April 2011 are very exciting!   Here is a quick summary:

• We have educated over 40 groups about issues related to brain injury

• Our resource guide is available online, along with other information on our busy website: www.biin.org

• We have a Facebook page: www.facebook.com/BIINME and have talked to over 2700 people who have contacted the Network with questions about brain injury.

Brain Injury Information Network :

  • Answers your questions
  • Provides information
  • Identifies resources
  • Listens
  • Advocates in support of brain injury issues
  • Provides education and training about brain injury

We hope that you recognize the value of coordinated information and resources, the importance of having representation to address public policy and healthcare issues and the value of a Statewide Network of Partners with a wide range of experience and expertise.
